How to Stage Your Home for Photos

When it comes to selling your home, the main thing people are going to look at are the visuals of your property. That's why it's important your home is staged perfectly to attract your ideal buyers. In this blog we are going to be discussing valuable staging tips which you should be using.

De-Clutter

Your property photos are there to showcase your home in all it's glory, which is why any clutter blocking the full visuals puts your property at a large disadvantage. Before you do anything else the first step is to tidy away anything that doesn't belong or looks cluttered.

De-Personalise

Even though your property is your own, your buyers are looking from the point of view of themselves and if there are many personal belongings of the current owner around it can be a turn off. There's no need to get rid of homely touches and make your property look like a show home but taking away unique and individual belongings, which are very personal can go a long way.

Add Fresh Touches

As you are going around, check light switches and taps to see if they are in full working order, the last thing you want is a plumbing or electrical issue. Feel free to enquire about previous work carried out to water and electrical features and ask about the cost of utility bills, it will give you more of a feel for the living cost.

Schedule the Right Time

Even though most agents will know the right time to have your property photos taken, only you know what time of day your property looks it's best. It might be when the sun just catches the kitchen floor perfectly, or when the sun rises producing that nice glow. Making your property photos look their best has a lot to do with the right lighting so make sure you arrange a perfect time with your agent.
